Hey Folks,
   These are busy times.
The Ian Sherwood Trio is gearing up for another Quebec / Ontario tour in June. There will be more emails about this but check the SHOWS page for full details. Also, I'll be heading down to Nashville for another songwriter retreat in a couple of weeks. I'll have the pleasure of writing with some amazing songwriters (Steve Dean and Jay Speight among others). Keep sending those positive country vibes! I love to hear them.

March 14, 2008

Hi all!
Things are busy these days. Currently, I'm in the midst of my British Columbia tour with two of the West Coast finest songstresses: "Three of Canada's emerging talents share the stage for an evening of songs, stories and surprises." See the link on the left for details
If you're in the area be sure not to miss one of these shows. There are surprises galore on the stage as we are discovering after doing a couple of shows with each other. Never a dull moment.
There's much more on the horizon including the Candy Palmater Show Pilot episode taping for APTN in April and another PQ ON tour in June. Keep checking back here for updates.
     See you at a show.

December 19, 2007

Hi folks,
The East Coast Music Award nominees were announced in Fredericton, NB and I've had the distinct honour of being nominated for two awards this year:

• CBC Galaxie Rising Star Recording of the Year
• Pop Recording of the Year

Great, now how am I going to sleep at night? Christmas is bad enough!
On behalf of myself, Konrad Pluta and Scott Ferguson (A of C producers) thank-you all for helping to spread the word about my music.
Now, let's keep our fingers crossed for February!
    Season's best everyone.
    See you at a show.

The holiday season is here...
Sorry for the reminder. Season's best to everyone, however, and welcome to all the new additions to the email list.
"Here I Go" has made it to the top 10 on the East Coast Countdown. Thanks to everyone who's been voting! If you feel like adding a few votes to the pile this week go to www.eastcoastcountdown.com and follow the links.
2008 is shaping up nicely with trips to Ontario, BC and Nashville. Be sure you're on the email list to find out when and where.
    See you at a show.

September 15, 2007

Hey Folks,
I'm back from California and what a weekend it was. San Fransisco is beautiful as are the people from the West Coast Songwriter's Association. I was invited to play a showcase at their conference this past weekend and I'm only now coming down off of the high.
Check out the dates over there on the left for some great shows in the rest of September.
After that I'm back down to Nashville to write country songs. Send along any hurtin' stories you want Tim MacGraw or Rodney Atkins to be singing about in a year or so!
Art of Conversation is now available on itunes for digital download and if you're still old school (like me!) you can buy the actual disc off of my website and myspace, or go to HMV, Springarden Rd. and CD Plus, Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax.
     See you at a show,
     Ian

July 31, 2007

Well, the show on Saturday was amazing. Thanks to everyone who made it out. The band was smokin' and you guys just kept fanning the flames! We all had a great time. We all had cake... lots of it.
Art Of Conversation will be available on line very shortly. In the mean time, wet your whistle with a few tracks I have posted on the music page and on my myspace.
A of C is also available in HMV in Halifax and CD plus in the Halifax Shopping Centre.

May 1, 2007

Hi folks,

Well, big news. I've just been named the grand prize winner of the California-based West Coast Songwriters' International Song Contest (it's a mouthful, but what an honour!). "Foolin' You" took the prize in the singer/songwriter category along with the blue ribbon for the whole contest, while "Dixieland Dirt Bovine" made me proud as well by winning first in it's category (miscellaneous) and bringing me home the seventh place prize. It's a pretty great day. I'm into the scotch. Unfortunately, I can't hit it too hard tonight because I'm back in the studio tomorrow doing the final mix of the next album "Art Of Conversation". We're releasing that this summer so keep an eye out for us!

February 26, 2007

Hi all!

The ECMA's have come and gone and the fog is finally starting to lift. For those who have been following the International Songwriting Competition events with my song 'Foolin' You', the news is that I shall remain a semi-finalist. Fellow local singer/songwriter David Myles has advanced to the finals so we're all pulling for him now! With 14,000 entrants from around the world, it's a huge honour to have made as far as I did. I feel pretty good.
That's all for now.
See you at a show.

January 6, 2007

Happy new year!
I'm gearing up for the West but there's still a lot to do here. Be sure to check the shows page for all of my dates and sign up for my email list to get the absolute latest.
I'll be doing a few shows with three time ECMA nominee Andrea Curry down at Stayners in Halifax over the next couple of months. Those dates will be solidified very soon.
My CD's are now available at CD baby.com. Simply click on the link on my Music page and it'll guide you through the painless process of purchasing.
Cheers,
Ian

November 29, 2006

Hey Folks,
Thanks for stopping in. The next few weeks are going to be studio intensive. I have a few shows lined up for December but for the most part I'll be staying close to Halifax. In January I'm heading back out to B.C. so be sure to keep checking the shows page for those dates if you're in the area.
Any ideas for a name for the new album? I'd love to hear them. Drop me a line!

Ian

October 10, 2006

September was a blast (shows with Valdy and Minglewood, CCMA's, NSMW and TIMA nominations, what a month)! October is the month of seriousness, though... seriously. I'm heading in to the studio in a couple of weeks to start production on the new album which is due out in the new year so it's time to start thinking about tours and promotions! I'll be heading out West in the new year and definitely down to T.O. sooner rather than later.
Gotta have some fun in there too, so be sure to come check out a show. I'm at Stayner's in Halifax on the 11th and 25th of this month and then again on the 4th of November. Lot's of other things happening too. Check out the SHOWS page.
See ya.

Ian

August 27, 2006

Thanks for dropping in.

Well, September is almost upon us but there's still the rest of August to deal with. This Wednesday (August 30th) I'll be back down at Stayner's Wharf for a solo show. After that I'll be playing at the Casino in Halifax and then it's off to NB for Session's Cafe and CCMA's. By then we'll be burning into next month. Be sure to keep checking the SHOWS page to keep up to date.

A big hello to our new friend in Wolfville. Be sure to drop into Paddy's Pub and the Just Us coffee house down there if you get chance.

See you at a show.

Ian

July 20, 2006

Thanks for stopping in.

The next few months are going to be busy. I'll be kicking around Halifax doing shows at Stayner's Wharf along with a few private events. September means Canadian Country Music Awards in St. John, NB! I'll be showcasing there along with some of Canada's brightest country stars. After that I'll be in PEI and Port Hawkesbury to do a few gigs with Valdy (I'll try to supply the Rock and Roll) and then off to Halifax to share a bill with Matt Minglewood. Be sure to check the Shows page to get the lastest, or sign up to my email list and I'll get in touch with you.

Cheers,
Ian
